To obtain parboiled basmati rice, unshelled grain, in the husk, washed , and then soaked in hot water and polished after the steam treatment. Due to steaming, all beneficial properties of the shell, that removed when polishing, transferes to the grain. That rice characterized, that during the cooking it is almost never be sticky. It makes parboiled basmati perfect for side dishes.
